thats not the ''x'' model is it? I know that they had some info on there website (hk54.com) on how to convert the mag's yourself, but that was for the "x" model. I think I would  take it to someone with who could convert them,or you could go to www.top-notchparts.com website. I think I seen in there that they will do costom work. I don't see why they wouldn't do the job for ya. hope the info help's.
what sw45 do ya have? I'm planing on ordering one for myself. how do ya like it? how dose it shoot? do ya have any pic's?

D'oh! I should have thought of TopNotch...

I don't have it yet, just got it off of GB...  The SW45 "sporting rifle" version, not the newer X model...  Straight plain barrel, like the HK94...

Was thinking of converting it to a SBR... I'll have a range report later...

Thanks!

My SW45 has eaten just about anything I have fed it.  Not too hard to convert GG mags.  Only had trouble with one mag, but the other 2 I converted do just as good as the one I got with the gun.  3" groups offhand at 50yds are no problem.

Lets see if this eye candy goes through    Disregard my big feet

I know it is popular among HKers to bash SW but I love my SW-45-PDW.  It has always run like a bat out of hell and is plenty accurate enough since they replaced the first barrel which was horrible, but they did replace it NQA.
I used the mag that came with the rifle to make my own out of the GG mags.  Not at all hard to do; just reshape and gap the feed lips and silver solder, weld, or Accra-Glass on a block to keep the mag from inserting too deeply into the mag-well.  The mags I modified work as well as the factory mag but if you can weld on the block I think it is better.  I have had the Accra-Glassed on blocks pop off on a couple of the mags but I had not roughened up the surface of the mag or the block well enough.
And by all means, SBR it.

Didn't think of a converting to a PDW, but that looks pretty good...

Thanks for the engineering thoughts...  That was the approach I was going to use, too... I'll buy some GG mags and work on them...

WOW, those are nice pic's. I can't wait to get mine. ooohhh!
schrambo, once you recieve your's, you might want to check the firing pin to see if its "mushroom" I know that SW had a eary problem with heat treating with them, but no biggy, you can just replace the pin.
give a range report asap.
SBR is the way to go!

Got an email from Wendy(Omega Arms) on the mags...  They'll have some available soon...

Got the SW45, took it to the range, and FTF(ire)...  No indication the firing pin is even touching the primer!!

I'm not happy, but I'm not panicking either...  I'll try to play with it, but I wonder if Todd & SW covers the warranty on these anymore??  I'll shoot an email to them to find out...

I did find a stash of mags and parts including a firing pin from a local PD, so hopefully if SW doesn't support it, I can fix it...

I'll post the course of events...

Pull the firing pin out and see if the assembly is full of a thick grease.  I know on my SW32, it was and would only fire now and then till I cleaned it.  Hope you get it working.

Thanks, that's where I was headed...  I didn't have time to deal with it yesterday...  I'll report back after I clean it, and try it again...

Pulled it all apart...  It was clean and dry everywhere...  Firing pin was new and not mushroomed...  Lubed it up, took it back to the range, got it to fire 2 rounds...  8 attempts to fire, 6 failure to feeds, 2 rounds fired...  Very mild when it actually shoots...

I sent Todd an email to see if he's still honoring the warranties on these...

We'll see...

If not, the dealer I bought it from might switch it out for another one he has in stock...

Yeah, recoil is almonst nonexistant.  One last thing to try if you can.  I had many failures to fire on another SW32 that I traced down to a weak hammer spring.  Replaced it and fine since.  Would swear it had a 9mm spring in it and put a 91 spring in.  Let us know how things work out.
