Do you see the reloading future coming to a hault very soon as we all know the government has authority over the ammo and weapon manufactures,so is this a attempt to put a stop to us reloading by stopping sales of componets to us during this new white house term? When a store i have visited for 30 years has no clue and none of there vendors can get componets and dont have a clue as to where all the backorders are and why they are saying months behind is very upsetting,as the store owner said between ammo sales, gun sales and reloading sales he has already lost 70% of his income as compared to the last 10 years,Was hinted if this dont change by end of summer he may close the doors .Very sad if this is the case from a president who said he would create jobs but instead it seems to me alot of folks in the shooting industry will be out of jobs soon.
As i good duck hunting friend of mines son works at Olin and said they are working no more overtime and producing no more then they did,so i come to my own conclusion they will find a way to keep us from shooting but let us keep buying or toys as they know we cant enjoy them by shooting. And the blame will be a over seas conflict or a Mexico issue of stating they need to supply them with ammo so we must sacrifice which we all know isnt true.

My reloading future will be reloading the componets I gathered over the last couple of years.

Sorry if you are starting now.

A year ago last Feb., my funshow finds.

Primers are the only things that seem impossible to come by right now.  Various types of powder are available at Wideners and Grafs,  I just ordered 16 lbs of TAC and 2 lbs of N140 yesterday from Grafs, NOT BACKORDER.  And various caliber bullets are also available, probably not the cheapo ones...  and worse comes to worse, you can buy ammo, shoot it, then reload the brass even if you can't find brass for sale directly.

Wideners has had wolf primers in stock twice in the last 2 months, I managed to pick up 10K of them.  Keep looking, things aren't all cheap and readily available, but they're out there.

With what I've currently got on hand (not counting ~2K of factory ammo), I can go through 4 full magazines of .223 a week for over a year before I run out, and I just started buying reloading stuff about a month ago...  And I didn't pay sky high prices for any of it...  you just have to be patient and diligent, and have the cash up front to buy in bulk when it becomes available.

That said, I've got another 10K of CCI 450 primers on backorder... just in case

While there is good reason to be vigilant and alert to any attempts by the current administration to curtail 2nd Amendment rights, just about everything you said above is complete nonsense.  The manufacturers and vendors of reloading components (and other firearms-related goods) are routinely out of stock on many items because people are buying everything up as soon as it hits the shelves.  Tell the clueless owner of the store you've been shopping at for 30 years to read this site for a few days...and he'll learn pretty quickly where the backorders are, and why he's having trouble getting supplies in.

It has just now seen the light of day.  Pres. Clinton signed a treaty that will do many things against gun ownership, but it also would eliminate reloading.  The Senate never ratified this treaty, but Dumbobama is pushing for ratification more than ever now.  The scarcity of components is due to a large part in hoarding.  In normal times, the producers could keep up.  But today, they can't.  They probably would like to expand to meet the demand, but what happens if and when the demand has finally been met?  Just a thought.

We need to take our country back through the power of voting . It's a shame to see the low voter turn-out locally.

I spoke with a guy at a shop around me and he said they are getting things in, but in small supply. He said that when they do get things in, someone comes in and clears them out.

I felt bad buying 2 of 3 lbs of Varget powder they had on hand, but I don't plan to purchase much more of this as a couple of lbs will probably hold me for now.

I have a sense of foreboding about what the gov't will do. Obama knows he'll never
screw with the 2nd amendment, political suicide. So he'll do it throught taxation and
making "explosives" hard to next to impossible to get. I started preparing over 18 months
ago for this scenario. Yah, I'm a hoarder I suppose. But as was stated either above or
in another post, gentlemen get out and vote, it starts at the local level. We can take
back our country. If that doesn't work be prepared to fight because that's what it's
gonna take. I truly believe his agenda is to disarm us all.

Fortunately his agenda seems to ARMING us all, instead of disarming. Kinda backwards, just like everything else in "government" these days.

I don't think you are a hoarder. You were buying well before the current "craze." I'd say you're just the ant, not the grasshopper.

I started reloading almost 5 years ago, initially to be able to afford to shoot 10mm. As I added other calibers it was also done with the idea that someday I might have to totally depend on my reloading and spare parts/tools to be able to shoot or repair my firearms. I didn't waste time trying to figure out WHY this might come to pass, just that it might.

I don't have the supplies in every category of components to shoot the rest of my life, but I'm not buying anything in these unsettled times. If you've been preparing for the last few years, or if the primer shortage of '94 opened your eyes, you're not a hoarder. You're a realist.

For me I just started reloading in the past few months because I could see the rise of .223 ammo going up, which sucks when you have just purchased a M16 and find out that Wolf ammo doesn't function well for you and can't seem to get the .22LR kits to work more than 70%.

Anyway I have been able to find brass, primers, powder, and bullets from various places to allow me to reload .223 at about $0.24 per round then I realize I can reload the brass 4-5 times,  the cost starts approaching about 18 cents per round.

I buy in bulk and constantly/daily check for supplies, currently there is a supply for H335 at http://www.powdervalleyinc.com/ which they still have in stock.

I did miss the last widners offer of wolf primers, I'll catch them later.  Also checked out the gander mountain here this past weekend in Huntsville, AL they probably had about 10-18 (1 lb) containers of VARGET at $24.99 each.  But I didn't buy any, because I'm a tight ass and won't pay that much when i can get it a lot cheaper online, even if I have to wait weeks or months or weeks.
