I just bought a new Reflex II 12.5 MOA Triangle sight for my M4. I went to the range last night to zero the thing in and had some questions about the initial adjustment and zeroing. My AR (fixed carry handle) iron sights are zeroed in according to the Improved Battlesight found on the Maryland AR website. Got a good group at 50 yds per the instructions. I mounted the Reflex II and began the initial adjustment per the instructions in the manual. Per the manual, I should adjust the the aiming point to be just above the front post prior to live fire zeroing. Problem is I ran out of elevation adjustment to get the aiming point to that location. When I live fired it however, the group was a little high and nice and tight. Obviously, with no elevation adjustment left, I can't get lower the group to zero THEN adjust 2 clicks down for the 14.5 inch barrel as specified in the manual. Anybody with the Reflex II have similar adjustment problems? I doulbe checked the carry handle mount and the sight itself and they appear to be installed correctly. Any suggestions, experiences, from you all on what might be wrong or what I should do? I really like the sight - should work out great for my purposes. Thanks. |

Who made your AR-15? My Oly had its handle machined on the tight side and the handle mounted optics would not properly fit in. They would go in far enough so you could mount something - but they would not be flush against the bottom (like they should). This could cause your problem. BTW I used to follow the Reflex instruction in the manual. However I found just zeroing them at yards (use the tip) was a bit easier and did the job just as well. |

My M4 is Bushmaster. Per your suggestion, I checked the fit of the carry handle mount with the handle on my AR. It's actually a very nice fit - it sits flush against the bottom. From your message, I think my mistake was I not using the tip of the triangle for zeroing. Rather, I basically used the center of the triangle as my aiming point. If I use just the tip as my aiming point, my group should be lower and I will probably need to adjust "up" a bit thus giving me my elevation adjustment to play with - right? |
