Has anyone seen, heard of, used these at all?

That is the Buffer Tech buffer and many, many M1A shooters use them on their rifles, myself included.
They don't really reduce recoil, what they do is reduce jarring and keep the operating rod from potentially slapping against the bottom of the receiver. They are quite well made and will last for many, many hundreds of shots. |
