Has anyone tried to use magpul aluminum rails for the pic rails on the side instead of $66 for fn or $33 for dorrin(which are out of stock at Midwest)?

Not aluminum, but I use Magpul's polymer rails and I milled the ends off. The ones I used are the correct bolt spacing.
