I'm looking at PS90s. and still trying to decide PS90 or AUG for my annual bonus present to myself. In my opinion, PS90 must be SBRd. Do we have a master thread or sticky on the cutting process? I know it has a shroud which complicates it a little. I know some say just replace, but I see no problem cutting it down either and would want to do it as a DIY as I love to tinker on guns. |

I thought the same thing about keeping the original and after trying....I just cut it and replaced with the CMMG 10.3" and that was easy peasy.Attached File |

As above, not worth saving (IMO) the ORM barrel. There are “tutorials” online if you g00gle it. The “barrel” you see is actually a shroud; you cut it off and swap barrels. |

I did the CMMG barrel swap, too. I used the cmmg thread adapter thingymabob to screw it in. Drilled a hole to knock out the blind pin in the barrel shroud/nut. Unscrewed that shroud/nut swapped the new barrel into the receiver Used the cmmg thread adapter/barrel not thing to install the new barrel installed a 1/2-28 brake/suppressor mount If you want to cut the original barrel, you can use anything from a lathe to a hacksaw, then use a brass screw in a drill on the business end to make a crown. |

Hacksaw behind the blind pin, remove shroud and barrel, send barrel stub to TROS, install shortened barrel, enjoy. |
| I used a cut off wheel to grind a groove over the pin in the shroud. Pin comes out, unscrew shroud then remove barrel. Be careful of the long ass spring for the charging handle. It's like a slinky on crack. Took al of 30 minutes. You will need a thin 15mm wrench for the barrel. |

Why save the barrel and get it cut? If you’re going to cut it, just use it. No sense to me to have two short barrels.¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Plus is TROS still operating? |

When I got my CMMG barrel, admittedly more than a few years ago, it was chrome lined. I think I may still have the factory barrel and shroud. Had to drill out the blind pin. As someone noted, you'll need a thin wrench. Ended up using a mill and making one that would fit. As I recall, the whole process wasn't too difficult, but did require a bit of thought and work. I don't remember all of the details, but would do it again. Especially since they now have FRT progressive triggers for them. They're really meant to be select fire. |
