Sort of……. Vehicle comms gear porn. Came upon an HF antenna made for a tank. Being regretfully tankless, made a hitch mount for it out of scrap metal. We have a trailer we take to training events, so it will be used on the hitch welded to the rear of that trailer. Attached File Attached File Attached File Is good from about 3.5 - 60Mhz with no external tuner. Priming / painting the hitch mount in my garage now. |

Got the mount painted up and put the antenna in travel mode. Drove around and made some contacts. I might take it down to the boat ramp and see if I can snag a fish with it, tilted over behind the truck. Lol. Attached File |

Hey dudes, I'm looking for something pretty specific. I need a triple-mag-per-pocket chest-rig close to or exactly like this AWS "commando" rig. Preferably three mag cells capable of fitting three mags per cell; I'd prefer only one frag pouch per side on the wings, but two is just fine. Not interested in building something off a MOLLE panel, so fully-sewn, preferably black, with hook/loop closure. I talked to AWS today, and sadly, they no longer make this one. The guy said there's some talk about reviving it for another run this spring, but I have my doubts. Anybody know of anything out there like this? Attached File Attached File |

I had some guys ask about this recently at a training event. If you try to just put glow in the dark tape against a pack/harness, that shit is going to fall off. If you wrap it around a velcro patch, and attach that to velcro, it will last a long time. I recommend whatever the narrowest tape on amazon is, and the cheapest surplus velcro patches wherever you find them. You can shoe-goo the loop velcro to your pack if there isnt one there already if you cant sew. Attached File |

Giving AIWB the old college try. After two days, and hitting the forums for research, seems people buy little pillows for them to help with the holster grinding on you. Had to hand turn my sewing machine (its shitty), to get through the cut off piece of sleep pad, and attached some velcro. Feels much better now. Attached File |

When carrying outside the waist band, a thick belt was a plus, and everyone recommended them. But once I carried AIWB, I quickly learned the best belt for that was the dive/webbing belt (I use Mastermind Tactics) its more comfortable and conforms better when sitting. and there is no big ass buckle that sticks out. Just been my experience over the years. |

I bought the TRex holster, just because I like the TRex Labs youtube channel…… the one with the brother, figured I would throw some business that way. Seems to be very good construction and a thicker kydex than my other brands. Well worth the $90 or whatever it was. Plus they advertised their flat rate shipping on their landing page, which is super nice, IMHO. Some places are throwing $15 shipping at checkout for small parts…… like a set of screws. Its a waste of time to load up a cart and then ditch the purchase over some crazy shipping fee. |

This weekend is a Light Fighter patrol event in the middle of the US……. Somewhere. About 48 hours in field, with an unknown amount of distance to cover. Rain, 30 to 55 degrees out. Pretty good elevation gain/loss. I will be OpFor with a couple other guys, patrolling against 15ish BluFor. I have blank ammo, trip wires, Zyn pouches and hopefully there is a rain jacket in there.
