I have an 11.5in bcm upper waiting at a friends house while the spikes lower and pistol buffertube ship. It will be a SBR one day, but I'd like to function check it as a pistol first.
I've Googled it but I can't seem to find a picture of a Centurion C4 carbine cutout rail attached to an 11.5 in upper. Does anyone have a picture of this setup that they can post? I'm either gonna go with the carbine cutout, or I'm gonna shave the FSB and slap on the 10in rail. Thoughts? Input? |

| Thanks for the links. I actually saw the one thread with the painted 12in SBR. Its probably close enough to give me an idea of what I wanted do. I stalked stickman's photos for like an hour looking for a 11.5 SBR with a carbine cutout centurion rail. Oh well I guess I gotta build one and take some pics of it for up here. |
Please do because I would like to see it. I am on the fence between putting a cutout or a 10'' on my future 11.5'' and so far I am leaning a bit towards the cutout. Good taste you have sir

Wow thanks! Those pics are just what I needed. After seeing those I know I'm going with the cut-out. All the utility of a FSB with that extra bit of rail.
I also like the ease of installation on the Centurion rails. This will be my first non drop in rail, and I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty excited. Thanks for the replies. |
| i was leaning towards a cut out to keep thing light weight. But today took a look in my parts box at the top of a FSB i cut off. I have the top have of a FSB that i shaved off of a mid length upper. Just be going with my "hand scales" the part i cut off was easily heaver than my front MBUS when held side by side. So by going to a BUIS i actual saved wight or at least broke even. No weight savings by keeping the Fixed GI FSB. I will still keep it in place on some rifles but for the most part i will be going with light weight BUIS. |
