I just got back from the range today and when to do my usual post range cleaning.  When I went to shotgun my FAL, I notice my spring came flying out of the gun.  Further inspection I have come to find out my receiver cover has broken.  The rear part that is welded on both sides to keep the spring aligned with the bolt has broke clean off.  What should I do just buy a new cover?  Any suggestions on what type I should buy?

Railed cover, if you want to scope it.  (Plus they are tough as nails)

Thanks for the heads up on this.  I just got a Para and that steel cover is really bad to get on and off the gun.    Does anyone have feedback on the Extreme Duty mount and how that quick release is working out?

So far mine has worked great, but I haven't had it too long.  Maybe 2 to 3 hundred rounds with it on the rifle.

Here's my para with the extreme duty mount. I have the IOR M1 with the IOR Quick release on some YHM risers- medium, I think. With this setup I can use the sights thru a cutout on the risers. I replaced the slotted bolts (DSA calls them screws) that come with the mount with the DSA hex bolts.

You might notice a 1" butt pad I have duct taped to the stock. LOP was too short for me.

The only other change I made was the M249 SAW pistol grip, which feels better for me.
