I'm in the market for a Gemtech OutbackII and looking for a good price in my area (Clarksville, TN).  I called Ed Lowrey at Rattlesnake Ridge and he gave me a price of $325+ tax.  Is this a good price or can someone tell me of another dealer in my area with a better price?
Thanks

From the Gemtech website:

Materials 100% Aluminum

Consider the Advanced Armament Pilot:

Based on the groundbreaking SCARAB silencer, the PILOT uses the same high-efficiency internals encased in an aerospace quality aluminum alloy body. The ultra-light-weight (3.5 oz) and compact size of the PILOT make it particularly well suited for employment on small frame pistols. The all-aluminum baffle-stack delivers astonishing levels of sound reduction without the use of liquids or coolants. Rather than ask the consumer to risk the durability of their investment and $200.00 transfer tax on the inherent weaknesses of an all-aluminum rear mount, AAC designed the PILOT with a 300 series stainless steel rear mount to eliminate thread wear common with all-aluminum mounts. Delivered with a hard-coat, matte-black anodized finish, the PILOT is available with 3/8-24, 7/16 -28 or 1/2-28 tpi threads to accommodate numerous host firearms.

Nice scare tactic  sales pitch.

There's nothing wrong with an aluminum mount.

I have an Outback II that began life as an Outback and was rebuilt by Gemtech to Outback II standards.  It has been on and off guns many hundreds (maybe K's) times and show no wear issues with the  Aluminum mount.   A plus of the all alumunum construction is that it is lighter than a suppressor with a steel mount.

I have an outback ii and have not had a problem with the Aluminum threads yet.  I mount the outback on a Ruger Mark ii with a PackLite upper, Walther P22, and a Ruger 77/22.  I also put a little copper anti-sieze compund on the threads of all my suppressor prior ot screwing them on the weapon.

I am sure Gem Tech would take care of the suppressor if I ever had a problem with the threads.
