That's what I was afraid you'd say.

I've still got one unmodified S-12 left, Tony's way backlogged, and a bullpup S-12 would've been cool, esp. since we can't have SBSs here...

on the saiga-12 board a guy had his 12 done. he said it was a huge pain in the ass, and eventually required some proffesional help. the gunsmith he used refused to do another one.

likely not a project for the light hearted, but it can and has been done.

The problem with a Saiga-12 is that the barrel is too big and interferes with the trigger.  In order to get it to work, you would have to completely change the trigger assembly and linkage.  On the saiga-20, the barrel is small enough that the trigger assembly can be modified to work, although it's still a pain.

I thought about doing that with my .410.

Think it could be possible since the .410s barrel isn't much larger than a standard AK barrel?

Picture thread guys.

Only 1 other one that looks like this one, and it's soon to be a loner as I'm eventually going to rebuild as a russian AKM clone (not exact, but it'll be decent).

It's not "practical" in functionality, just a range toy.  but that's all it was ever built to be.  the novelty's wearing off though, so onward and upward I suppose.

I'm not sure about the DMS on this rifle. May switch it out to an EOtech and put the DMS on my Sig.

Tac-Driver she's not, but off-hand I can rapidfire  a mag with it into a 5-6 group at 25yards.
I have not done any slow-fire accuracy shooting yet as it's just plain FUN to blast it.

..I tried to hotlink it but the new text editor sux azz.

Be honest you gave it a girl's name didn't you?

FN Herstal should have you in an ad or something Judochop.

It looks like a KVAR bullpup kit to me.  It also looks pretty sturdy.

have you got to shoot it with the DMS yet?

if I get one, I may put my ACOG on it and buy a 2-7 scope for my SPR rifle.

Did you do the stipling on the SG2000? Looks great, make me miss my .17hm2 SG....

And how about another pic of the STG-556 barrel?
Link Posted: 11/30/2008 10:31:41 PM EDT

Yup, I had to do the stippling myself.  It was an interesting learning process.  I'm hoping to get an SG in 17HMR but funds are low given the current political atmosphere.  I'll try to take more pictures as time allows

Hey, JUDO.  What's that weigh with no magazine?
Link Posted: 12/3/2008 10:22:25 PM EDT

Including the extra batteries and stuff in the storage compartment as is, about 9 pounds, but, feels lighter than an AR just by the ergonomic differences. This rifle is my go-to rifle and is very very reliable.  I am considering an RX-30 or the new Accupoint to replace the eotech even though the eotech is a great sight.

Thanks for the info...was comparing to my M17S...which runs around 8 lbs so similar....

After much modification my M17S has become VERY reliable, but it did take some smithing....Imagine the F2K is a better out-of-the-box rifle by far.

Nice rifle and as always, great pics.

Thanks again!
