The only two types I like is a Bixler system or the new B&T mounting system. But the OG system sucks. |

Does anyone own or have trigger time behind a new KAC CRS-3 5.56 suppressor? https://www.knightarmco.com/39293/shop/signature-reduction/rifle-suppressors/5-56mm/5-56mm-crs3 I held off buying a KS-2 until I have more details about both. Thanks |

Thanks I’m just getting started with this can (500 rounds down range). I have two CRS-1 cans each with several thousand rounds on them. I believe the CRS-3 probably offers a little bit more suppression but still good with flash. A few ounces lighter than the CRS-1 too. I can run a MAMS with the CRS-1 but not with the CRS-3. Internals look different between the models. |

I’m thinking of suppressors you might own. I’m not expecting HUXWRX level of performance (Flow 762 Ti or Flow 556k). |

Of what you mentioned (I have RC2, RC3, Sandman S, flow 556k) I’m liking it better than any of those. I don’t have a legacy/welded QDC can, but I like it better than the CRS-1. Of those the closest in sound performance is RC2, but I like the low back pressure cans over traditional baffled cans. The RC3, Sandman S, and flow 556k are not in the same league in my humble opinion. I have a full sized Hux 556 Ti and just guessing the CRS-3 isn’t as quiet, but doesn’t throw sparks and I believe it will be more durable. QDC attachment, excellent flash mitigation, seems durable, weighs less than CRS-1 and while I don’t have expensive sound equipment, I believe it is quieter than CRS-1. Hopefully in a month I’ll have another case through it and can give a better opinion, but my first couple of outings have been good so far. |

I guess I will have to pick one up later this summer. Sorry an error in my typing and I've since corrected it. I believe (no sound equipment to prove it) the CRS-3 sounds better than Hux 556k, but not as good as the Hux Flow 556 Ti. The advantage over the 556 Ti is that the CRS-3 doesn't spark (better overall signature) and seems to be more durable. |

I am disappointed with mine relative to the Flow 762 Ti when comparing on 5.56 guns. Sounds like the CRS-3 will be closer to the Surefire RC4 or better than the RC3. I actually love my RC3, but I don’t shoot at night much. |

CRS-3 sounded very close - to my naked ear - to an RC2 when I shot them back to back, if not the same. Granted, it was outdoors but under a metal awning. Not the most scientific test by any stretch/ |

I went and tested some muzzle devices at night. I used a L3 UFWP PVS14 for image intensification. Distance was at 100 yards, muzzle oriented 10 feet to the stage left of the PVS14 recording device, zoomed to 2x. I used an 11.5" KS3, equipped with a 3-prong FH. I used IMI M193 ammunition. Below are freeze-frames of the first rounds fired through each muzzle device. First the KAC CRS-3, second the KAC QDC 556 (Legacy baffle suppressor), third the KAC MCQ-2, and lastly the bare 3 prong. The video will be up on my channel tomorrow. From the shooter's stand-point, the CRS3 did the best, followed by the MCQ2 and bare muzzle device, lastly the QDC. This is born out from the down-range perspective. Further, the CRS3 and QDC556, even though similar in size and weight, had very different recoil characteristics, with the QDC being much snappier and harder recoiling. KAC really has cracked the code on total signature reduction with their CRS and MCQ line. That fancy tech they talk about on YouTube actually does exactly what they claim, as you can see. *Limitations: This was filmed at only 60fps, and frame-by-frame gone through to select the brightest images from all configurations. Filming at such low speeds allows for discrepancy. Attached File |
