Hopefully, they can get some IRIS 4 demo units out to the YT reviewers with expensive cameras so that we can see what the flood and throw is like on the white light. How well does it power through tinted glass? How well does it power through daylight into dark interior rooms of buildings? Is the flood sufficient to give me a wide view indoors? Can I power through other white lights to PID targets that are shinning white light at me? |

The above statements are generalities as you can't say "never and always". |

All of that set aside, I'd still like to see some really good video of the white light, because stats on paper don't give me the full story of a light's performance. For example, seeing the videos of the IRIS 3's IR illuminator and IR Laser performance really does more to make me feel better about the unit than just the raw stats. So, I hope that Holosun can get the IRIS 4 samples out into the hands of some YT reviewers with good cameras. Hopefully, soon, because they rolled out the IRIS 3 at the exact same time as they provided units to reviewers and I think that didn't really give people much time to learn about the unit's performance before the first shipments were sold out. One Hundred Concepts just dropped a great video this past week showing the IRIS 3 along with a lot of other popular LAMs. However, if you watched that video now and used it to decide that you want the IRIS 3 you've got to wait until mabe April before you can get one. However, generally speaking, there is a marked difference in a few lights that I use at work to view through tint. I carry a Surefire Stilleto Pro to use as a task light or a light when I want more spill. For felony stops, traffic stops etc I use high candela lights as i've found that the lower candela does not pierce most tints. I have no scientific data to back this other than my own experience but any light with less than 50K candela doesn't pierce tint very well, especially at distance. We will see. I have no doubt that the Iris 4 will be an awesome unit. It just may not be the do it all unit that you're hoping for. You're probably going to have to compromise somewhere. |

For those weird folks like me that don't care for the "visible override" feature of the Iris- I pulled the remote switch from a Raid weapon light and attached it to the Iris. Just with a little checking at the house it appears to work and avoids the "visible override" feature. Will work with it more this weekend and confirm how it went. And they are coming out with an IR head for the Raid, so you may want to buy a Raid anyway. |

Some of the retailers also have general discount codes that you can get from various YouTube reviewers that could help offset any 10% price hike. |

They are entirely dependent on pretty substantial GNP growth right now and so maybe they'll just hold off on their 5th gen warfare fentanyl offensive for four years? Especially since it does look like less of it is going to get through the U.S. borders anyways due to Canada and Mexico pledges of cooperation. The thing the CCP fears most is its own people, communist tyranny is a fragile thing that requires constant effort. If they think that the 10% hit will be too much they just might make a deal. Time will tell, again though we don't know if Holosun will for sure pass the entire 10% along to its consumers. They just might be willing to take a slight profit hit and even if they do pass the whole 10% along to us, it's just 10% on an item that is pretty affordable, relatively speaking. |

Same battery, left ON in the unit since a week before Shot show (3+ weeks) and no power loss seen. |

This was testing in response to the "how are they with parasitic drain" post a page or two back. Along with putting about 800 or more rounds through the rifle it is on so far, to verify zero still holds. As of last night, zero was holding just fine. Rifle is used for demos at classes, tossed in the back of the truck at 2am and left there bouncing around till next day of class, etc. So basically doing these things trying to put to bed a few of the

| I need another IR laser like I need another hole in my head, but this might be a good fit for my X95. Can anyone verify if the IRIS will fit on the 9 o'clock rail of an X95 with or without having to ditch the bottom rail cover panel? Please @ me or PM me if someone is able to check that. |

Cold Harbor in Canada is expecting shipments of the IRIS 3 in February, but Optics Planet's website says April for their expected next batch. Go to the websites that allow you for email re-stock notifications and sign up for them if you're really eager. I have no clue about the availability of the IRIS 1, 2, or 4. |

Long way off (Q4) on the other variants per Holosun rep. We were told "about two weeks" for our next shipment of IRIS GR3 recently, but we were also told they were running "4 weeks" at Shot, which should have meant a shipment here about now. |

Better than A3 and 9007 (only laser in Iris price range). Runs with but not as strong (IMO) as the illuminator on the D2. Bonus point for not being a lunchbox and the slider makes it very convenient to adjust versus turn dial. Considering where most folks place their LAM (near the muzzle) the slider is a helluva more convenient. We put some pics on IG back before Shot showing most of these. |

Did anyone else backorder one from Warhammer armament? I did back in January. In February they sent an email stating that the shipment was held up by customs and that anyone on the backorder should expect them +/_ a few days on either side of March 15. Haven't heard anything since. I sent an email a couple of days ago asking if there were any updates, but haven't received a response. |

I finally got a chance to shoot with the IRIS. Man this thing is great. My buddy had a real FP PEQ-2 and the intensity of the illumination may have slightly higher in the center of the illumination, but the IRIS kept up with it and certainly had a cleaner illumination circle. We shot super close and distances out to 100 yards and the slider going back and forth was extremely intuitive. While I didn’t get a chance to shoot at longer distances, there was a street light about 200 yards away with dark woods behind it. Once the illuminator was choked down, the IRIS was able to punch past the photonic barrier and light up the woods past the light. I was impressed I think the IRIS is just about perfect unit in terms of size/cost/performance. |

The Rix Tactical RIP-3C and LaserSpeed M6TR are its primary competitors and I think it edges them out due to its lower weight and that I personally rate Holosun as a more proven entity here in the USA. I think the IRIS is even slightly less money in cost than those two units. The higher cost competitors would be the MAWL and RAID Xe. There are some advantages both those units have over the IRIS, but in my opinion not anywhere near significant enough to justify them costing a 3 or nearly 4 times as much. Especially considering that the IRIS has some advantages itself over those two more expensive units. Grey market IR units are just not worth it anymore, in my opinion. Your options now for VCSEL units are such that I really don't see any advantage to buying an FP grey market unit. |
 IRIS 3 - Giving the middle finger to the rest of the industry One more review of the IRIS 3. TLDR: Thin Line Defense YouTuber essentially came to the conclusion I have, the IRIS 3 is impressive and it just needs a diffuser cap and it would be nice if the darn viz override was actually slaved to a white light so that you got both simultaneously with a single button push. He also agreed with the YouTuber Brassfacts that the slider should have a button on it (not sure I agree with that one, would have to try it and I'm not sure how that would work). I think the IRIS is the LAM/MFAL gold standard now. Holosun didn't mess around, they went right out of the gate to crush their competition and even give the units literally more than three times its price a run for their money. I'm excited for the IRIS 4. Having that 4 in one with the light white built in saves you a decent amount of weight. With all the weight on the end of rails these days, especially if you're running suppressors, it's nice to ditch as much weight as possible. So, fingers crossed I'm really hoping the 4's light is at least "good enough" because the weight savings could be a game changer. Hopefully, Holosun can just make dual lead switch that will give us the viz override with white light combo without having to do a GEN 2 of the IRIS. |

Just don't really feel like juggling two potential $900 purchases with everything I have going on right now. Should have just ordered from you guys in the first place. I did just speak with someone at War Hammer. They received the backorder shipment, but some of the units were defective. So they went back to Holosun and the clock started over. At least that's what I understood. Dude seemed like he had a lot going on. |

Meant to update this a couple of weeks ago. I took delivery of mine the first week of April. After War Hammer sent a follow up email, I understand the additional delay and it was no fault of theirs. They handled it the best way possible IMO. This thing is great. I didn't expect it to be THIS tiny. It isn't as powerful as my old PERST 3 (obviously), but I like it much better. So much cleaner and easier to use. |
