Is it possible to to neck size with a FL resized? Have some .30-06 brass that was given to me. It was loaded ammo, so I pulled the bullets.  Am concerned about neck tension and I don't crimp (for a bolt gun).

Thoughts?

I would FL resize it before I put it in my rifle.

There are some that back the die out to where it only kisses or "bumps" the shoulder.

I'd pull the bullet and fully resize it popping the primer out

Yes and no, it depends on how much taper the case has and how far down the neck you wish to size.  If the FL die body contacts the case body, then you are no longer neck sizing.

Whether you set up your 30-06 FL die to neck size only or you full length size these cases you will still have to remove the decapping pin/stem if you wish to save the primer.  Once you do that, might as well just FL size em.

That's how they're supposed to be used.

I think this is the answer. You are right.  I have to remove the decapper/expander. Might as well imperial lube them and resize.

Thanks all!
