Hey Guys,
I'm currently working on a 9mm AR SBR project and cant help but think this will be a great IR laser host for NODS. Ultra quiet suppressed, and all of the features of my NV AR's. Anybody running a subgun (9mm AR, MP5, MPX, Etc.) with their NODS? If so, what IR lasers are you using, or what would you recommend? My ATPIAL seems like it would be a little heavy. Anyone hunting (pigs, etc.) with it? Post some pics too, I always get inspiration from other's setups! Thanks!

Like, a CQBL with an X300V and a TAPS Pro switch :)

Rail space will be your limiting factor trying to cram all that gear onto such a short gun--this is more of a problem with say something like the MP5 that wasn't really designed for all of these additional accessories plus optics, with more modern platforms, especially if you can mount a longer handguard to recess the suppressor, it's less of an issue.

If you've got the room for it, I still think the ATPIAL would be hard to beat for functionality and ease of use/integration, however, in addition to the CQBL, an option like the X400V might be worth considering, and I would keep an eye on the newly announced DBAL-RL, which it sounds like was developed with this kind of application in mind, I'm assuming many have seen the photographs of the MP5SD with cannibalized KAC M4 RAS bottom rail zip-tied and hose-clamped to the handguard with an ATPIAL mounted at the 6 o'clock.

Thanks for the info guys. I've been eyeing the CQBL for a little while now. Thankfully I went with a 10" URX 4, so i should have enough rail space (4.5" barrel recessed Octane 9). Anybody have any pics?

A 10" rail should fit most any NV accessories you will need.

I know the general principle behind using a suppressor is to reduce the signature to a minimum but, if you intend to stretch the limits of lethality, you may consider some heavy bullets loaded to ultrasonic. You will exhibit the sonic crack but the report will be subdued and you will be delivering more foot pounds to the target. I know the MP5 and Uzi were rated for this - I am unaware what the AR carbines are rated chamber stress wise.

Look up Jason Jeter on Instagram.  He blasts hogs with a Mac-10 and maybe a couple other subguns.
