| About two months ago I mailed a letter to the NFA branch in regards to a change of address and to ask them to remove my Form 1 AR off the NFA list so that I could return it to it original condition. I no longer want an SBR. I had also at the same time sent in a change of address on my C&R FFL which I got back along time ago. It was an in state move and same county. How long should it take to here from them and shouldn't I get conformation of my item being removed from the NFA registry? |
First off .. I wouldn't have sent in a removal letter. If you ever want to build it SBR again .. you will have to go through the whole process over and not to mention you lost your $200 in stamp money. The NFA branch is VERY busy right now. I sent in a F1 May 27 and it just went pending July 18. The branch is understaffed with a lot of newbies to boot! It's going to probably take quite some time to get a letter back. |
FWIW, i just got back a letter acknowledging my change of address (in state) with the ATF. i SENT the letter in January of *2007*... |
