Hello boys and girls.
New to the world of suppressors so I hope these are not stupid questions. 1. What is a good can for a 7.62X39 AK? (This will be on a semi-auto). (Also I am not a navy seal ninja so I don't need anything to high speed) 2. Can I use the existiong threads to screw this on with(it is threaded as a standard AK should be.)? 3. What are the odds of having a projectile exit the can immproperly? |

1) YHM. Bang for the buck, a YHM .30 cal can is hard to beat. In the same can, I'm running 5.56mm regular AR & AR SBR & 7.62x39mm with the ability to upgrade to .308/.300 Win Mag in the same can if I ever get off my @$$ and get a nice bolt rifle. It's full auto rated, built like a tank, and brings noise down to approximately a .22LR hi-speed round. I'm sure others will chime in here and tell you what they run.
2) I have a WASR-10 as my current host. I have a couple of them and just chose my folding stock model as I could visually inspect it the easiest before I fired. And yes, I did a couple mags with just one round, then three rounds, then five, to make sure it cleared OK with no baffle strikes. Mine are 14x1mm LH threads & YM extra flash hiders can be found for $50ish (used) to $75 (new). My stocking dealer had a couple I picked up when I bought the can. 3) Depends. The first thing you have to check is thread alignment and thread depth. For instance, I have a AMD-65 pistol that has threads which are much deeper than my Romy AKs and it looks like they are off center. The WASR-10 I used I just eyeballed it and took it carefully the first few rounds and it's fine. Ammo is Wolf without any issues. Hope this helps. If you want a pic in this thread I'll post one when I get home, but I've put pics in several of the threads in this forum and try not to spam too much. |
