I purchased 5 rounds of proclaimed factory lake city produced M1 incendiary ammo of gunbroker. At the time the only guy selling loaded M1 incendiary. I’m questioning its legitimacy due to head stamp dates ranging from 84-94 and no sealant on the primer. Thought production stopped in late 40’s……. Can anyone confirm this is legit or not? I’ll attach photos later if need be. |

USA M1 Incendiary (Blue tip) & M2 AP (Black tip) production ended with the adoption of the M8 API round (Silver tip) at the end of WW2. M23 Incendiary (Blue/Blue tip) started in late WW2 and continued through the 1950's. With the formation of NATO in the 1950's, blue tip color code became the designation for training/practice. In the .50 cal, it's mainly Limited or Short Range Training. |
