I keep this up Bob the Minion is going to need a bigger couch 😀 Right now I've another 1944 Inland at Fulton Armory being reparked, I damn near ordered a 3rd Garand from CMP (filled the paperwork for another Expert and said wait to see if they get Service models back) and I'm "watching" another 1944 Inland on GB. I also had to talk myself out of a IAI model Carbine at a LGS yesterday for 800 beans mainly because I told myself I DIDN'T NEED IT 😂 I'm not a addict, I can quit anytime (mainly because my gun fund is broke 🙁 ) |

I just brought this little beauty home today. It was made by the Millville Ordnance Company (MOCO). They were built for a short period of time in the 60's out of a combination of commercial parts and USGI parts:

My dad was a cook in the Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in Alaska and was issued an M1 Carbine. This was my dad's commercial M1 Carbine made by National Ordnance that he picked up from a neighbor many years ago:

Nothing special, just an old Iver & Johnson.. Dad got it in early 90’s as bday present.. at that time the M1 was still in service here in Italy so commercial clones were the only option. He has always had a good relationship with the M1 since it was his first gun issued in the FFL… he was later issued another one in the Italian army… and had an armory full of carbines at the end of his career as Carabiniere. Started life as a 50th anniversary edition..the original stick is gone.. the Good thing is it’s 90% made with usgi parts, second good thing is that dad was still in service at that time so lots of spare parts at home Been very reliable so far.

Just picked this up today. Appears to be an Inland from 42-43. Inland markings on the receiver and FCG, barrel marked Underwood. Stock has a P on the small of the stock and “SA” on the top edge of the sidewall up towards the muzzle. No stamping in the sling/oiler inlet. Mag button has an “M” and the bayonet band has “AMCO” on the side next to the sling swivel. The bolt/op rod interaction is sloppy as hell. Very happy to have a carbine, now I need to see what I can do about the stock. I’m hesitant to sand and refinish because I don’t want to mess up the P marking. Need to pick up some mags, oiler, sling, stock mag pouch, and bayonet.  ETA: Hit the stock with some Citristrip and started applying PTO. After I cleaned up the wood, I found two brass pins on the stock that weren’t visible before.

My National Postal Meter M1 Carbine. #SN dates it to March/April 1943. Underwood barrel marked 2/43. NPM outsourced all their barrels so because of the close date range I'm assuming that the receiver and barrel are original to each other? Nice tiger strip Birch Stock from what I assume was a post WWII Armorer upgrade with bayo lug? Barrel is in like new condition.

My dads gonna crap this Christmas. Been trying to get one similar to what my Grandpa , his dad, had in the war. He was in from N Africa all the way to the occupation of Berlin in 45 so he probably had a few different ones issued as he moved in units. Type band may even be correct for that serial range (possibly) Late war Winchester post 6,5xx,xxx serial
