| Are there any downsides to the RC4 mini other than the price being more than RC2? Will live on a URGI 14.5" upper. |

I was recently in this same boat. Idk really I ended up getting a RC2 and Mini 2 used in mint condition for the price of one RC4 mini. FWIW from everything I have seen while the lower back pressure is there and the flash suppression is good, it seems loud AF. Don't get me wrong I'm not running these guns without ear pro but just going on videos alone there is a noticeable boom. FWIW i absolutely adore the tone of a RC2. So much so that everytime I am with my friend with his I'm impressed on his 13.9". Regardless of dB i think it sounds great. No doubt it's a conventional can and I will be tuning both guns for the mini 2 and RC2. Another interesting point is in the classic firearms video two of the three people seem to prefer the RC2 over the 4. Take into a count another 1/2" or so of less baffles and you know the RC4 is going to have some pop. Really just depends on what you're looking for. Could be easier to sell in the coming months if the NFA goes away so that might push me to go RC4 and if you don't like it, screw it, sell and recoup. Given that it's a 14.5" I honestly would go mini2 to keep it as short as possible but that's just me. I also think flow through is all the new craze and while it's obvious this implementation to suppressors should've been done long ago for DI guns, i don't think it necessarily makes the traditional baffle stack design obsolete. Not yet at least, i think people are getting closer to the sound performance of traditional baffle stack design while retaining flow through properties. | The RC2 Mini has such a great track record, the RC4 is too new to know..... Also I have a Velos K LBP so I already have a flow through K can. Really leaning towards the RC2 mini especially because it will live on a 14.5 and gas blowback wont be as bad as a 10.5 or 11.5. |
| I have a RC4 mini and RC2 556 mini as well and a 14.5 URGI....the RC4 mini lives on a 11.5, while I occasionally run the mini2 on the 14.5 If you didn't have either can, get the mini 4. If price is a big deal...get the RC2 556 mini..... |

Lucas Botkin just compared the RC4 mini and the RC2 mini and his take was he really liked the RC4 mini. IMO, the RC4 mini was too loud for me. I would want the RC4 hands down- hoping for more sound reduction. Even if I'm wearing ear protection all the time, why not start with a gun that is at least somewhat quiet? Indoor, you need all the help you can get. |

And to further put in for the RC4 on that account, the RC4 mini is 1/2" longer than the mini2 so it's not quite as small as the Mini 2 and nearly halfway there to being full size like the RC2 and 4 at 6.4/6.3" respectively. |
