Getting some stange delayed fires with my recent batch of .223.

23gr 2230

Wolf SRM

55gr Xtreme bullets

Off the bat, I'd suspect the primers, but I've loaded plenty from the same lot and they've been fine.

Could slightly high primers cause this?

I'm going to clean all the primer pockets on this next batch and see if that helps.

Any other things to check?

Yes high primers can cause that. What can happen is the firing pin is pushing the primer in farther before it penetrates it enough to ignite it. Penetrate is probably not the best description so let me change that to dents it enough to ignite it.

I think that the wolf primers specifically are slightly famous for issues when not seated all the way too.
