Usually it takes GCA 3 weeks of processing. They build up a list then email CMP the membership list.
Send GCA an email and ask if you have been processed yet , if so ask for your membership number.
You can still send in your CMP order right now. They will enter it and hold it for your membership info. I sent in my GCA membership, 2 weeks later I sent in my 1st CMP order.
I waited the 3 weeks for CMP processing, sent gca an email which they replyed with info on my membership number. I called CMP customer service With the info which they confirmed on the phone(They received the email list as I was speaking to them). Turned out the number was all that CMP was waiting for. Following week I received my rifle.

Have fun ya got the only disease that the only cure is to get more of the garand.

Just put "GCA applied for" on your CMP paperwork. That's what I was told by CMP when I ordered a few months ago.

I don't know what their supply of rifles is like, but the cost of OH sales tax negates the savings in shipping cost so then you have to add your cost of gas and lodging to the cost of the rifle.

but is it worth it to hand pick the rifle?? or do the CMP people pick out good good quality guns?? and not just the first one on the rack?
or can i request "early year and good bore please"??

If you go there real early on a weekday morning they'll help you out.  If you bring them bagels or something, they'll help you out more.

I'm glad I went.

Not for me.

Takes me about 35 minutes to get there. I sleep at home.
