So I’m in the process of building my first SBR. I want to suppress this rifle. My question is can I send the form for the SBR and the suppressor in at the same time? Separate envelops? Same envelop two checks? Or do I need to just slow down and complete the SBR first and then go through the process on the suppressor?

Do I need to do a form 1 for the sincerer and it has to be transferred to a FFL? |

The suppressor will have to transfer to an SOT who will hold it until he receives your approved tax stamp in the mail. |

Form 1 = Manufacturing Form (You are manufacturing a NFA item from a Non-NFA rifle receiver)
Form 4 = Transfer Form (You are transferring a complete NFA item) The two forms are handled by two different branches of the ATF in two different states ETA: If you were purchasing a complete SBR it would be on a Form 4 instead of a Form 1 |

IBTM or L Two envelopes, two checks to two different addresses. Check in the proper forum for your answers under the Armory tab. Why two different address? Duh.... gotta keep you confused That is the whole idea behind NFA. Seems like it anyways.

You got that right, and it seems like the more I read and try to educate myself on NFA the more questions I have

What if a person was making a suppressor and an SBR? could it all be done on 1 Form1? Or 2 Form1's in the same envelope? Or 2 different Form1's in 2 different envelopes? It could be done on two separate forms in the same mailer, I would however put each set of documents in its own envelope inside the mailer to reduce the chance of human error, or at least paper cliped |

Two F1s, both could go in the same envelope. You could do one $400 check/USPS MO or two $200 checks/MOs. This is only if you're MAKING both the SBR and the suppressor. |

Just remember that you need one form, whether that be a Form 1 or 4, & a $200 chek per NFA item that you wish to register. Well, you need 2 forms per item. IE 2 Form 4s if you're buying a suppressor, two Form 1s if you're making an SBR, etc. Ya, that's what I meant. |
