I am going to buy a 22LR suppressor tomorrow that will be used on a P22 and a SBR AR. Am I going with a bad choice? I am willing to give up a few things to have the quietest suppressor possible if I must. Any other options I should take a look at? A demo is not possible.
Another thing, will the warlock handle 17HM2? Or short bursts in full auto? |

The warlock is a great silencer. Very quiet, with a good company behind it.
I don't believe SWR rates it for .17HMR or .22WMR, and I don't know what they say about full auto. If it is in stock at your dealer that will save you 4 weeks not spent transferring something in. My companies checkmate QD is rated for 30rd magazine fed full auto, and those rimfire magnums with 18" or longer barrels. It also comes apart for cleaning. In the sound game, I recommend the SWR Warlock, HTG Universal, or AAC Prodigy with the new core <the AAC product will leave you waiting on the new core though. The Checkmate is as quiet as those on a rifle, but on a pistol the others are doing better. |

The can that GreenO left out that I would say to put some serious though into would be the SWR Spectre. All of the great feaures that were mentioned above and some of you price rangethe best sound reduction. If it is out of your price range, do the following:
!. Conntact Major Malfunction for the best price 2. Save your money 3. Buy it The Majpr got my Trident 9 to my dealer within two weeks for a far better price than anyone else. ETA: I forgot to add that it is rated for everything from .22lr to 5.7x28. |

First off, thanks. But, I asked about a 17HM2, not the 17HMR. Also, I have thought about the Specter, but worried about the extra weight when on the P22. Also, it seems like the take apart silencers are louder. wtf its 8 oz ...are you a pansy or something? My spectre weighs nothing at all compared to my rifle cans. |

There are always tradeoffs. |

Well it would seem to me on a gun what weights 15.2 oz (P22), that a 6" long silencer that weights over half of what the guns weights would tend to make things feel a little "unbalanced, but what do I know? |

I think you made a good decision to stay away from the weight, and still get a high performance silencer. You'll be happy with it.
Take aparts have been costing performance but soon more won't. The AAC Prodigy with the new core doesn't cost a user performance over a sealed unit. The Spectre doesn't seem to cost much if at all in performance either. |
