I just got to shoot my first .223 reloads. 23 - 24 grains of H335 pushing a Nosler 55 grain FBT in increments of .2 grains. Everything shot and functioned perfect. I only got to use the 50 yard range, but the first 6 shots were kept inside a .953" group.
My question is 3/4" of the way down from the neck I have these scuffs (pictures look like dings). Since these are my first reloads I just wanted to check with someone that has more knowledge of reloading. I'm guessing its just where the ejected cases slapped the deflector, but just want to be sure. that everything was ok. I also have 2 straight line scratches down the body of the brass on all of my reloads. From what I found on previous posts its just normal scratches from locking lugs. What strikes me as odd is the fact that none of my factory loads have either the scuff or these scratches. http://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p490/madstriker72/7B9B2790-B038-49F6-8E5C-027037818068_zpsjzfyftmp.jpg |

Do ya think maybe he means, his fired factory ammo doesn't have these marks. |

Yeah my factory fired ammo spent cases come out clean with no marks or pings, but my reloads have that scuff like ding that you can see in my pictures along with 2 scratches all the way down. |

It is possible that the factory ammo you are using is a bit hotter than your reloads and the ejection is a lot faster which may not hit your deflector. From your posted loads you are a little light IMO. Vince |
| The factory rounds I had were xm855 so theres know doubt they were loaded hotter. This was my first time reloading so I was being extra cautious. My next batch I will start to work a little hotter. Just taking it nice and slow till I get the swing of things. Thanks for the help! |
