Just ordered a Microtech HALO III ME Green Bead Blast TAD edition from TADGear. It should be here by Friday. I'll post some pics when I get it.

I looked at all the Microtechs, and the Halo III was the one to buy, the TAD version in green the best.  Mine is the "bead peen" finish blade.



Now if my Strider SMF would just get here, and my Strider Sng would just get back from Mick sharpening it.

Man, what do you need a Strider for when you have that beauty? Awesome lookin blade. I wish auto's were legal here....

To answer your question, no ...at 18 you can not. you must be 21 years of age. While not official site, here you go. I have ordered from two companies in Texas so far.

My reading of the Texas statute indicates that you can own an auto knife in your home as a collector in Texas.  You can not carry it.  Best to read it for yourself and decide.

Quick state by state reference chart...a few year old, but still pretty accurate.
