I have made 7 NFA purchases over the past few years, but my last was made 4 years ago. Everytime I went to get the CLEO signoff it was done by appointment and the signoff was completed in a few minutes while you waited. At that time my figerprints were always taken manually. Well the great guy that signed off retired last year and his replacement will sign, but has you drop it off and calls when it is ready. The manual fingerprints are now computerized. I ordered the NFA cards from the ATF site. Can the local department just put these into their machine and print all my info on them or do I need to have all of the information typed on them before I get there?

Thanks

I'd just call the PD and ask them if they can print on your cards. Just make sure it ends up on the correct fingerprint cards for NFA, I hear they can be quite picky about the stamp on the cards. As far as ATF "accepting" printed cards instead of manual prints I have no idea, I know you can put your print your pics directly on Forms 1&4, haven't heard anything regarding prints though.

They can use the FBI cards, at least here in PA. I would think it's a "standardized process". The only difference in the FBI and PSP cards was the imprinted or rubber stamp FBI info in one of the boxes. Also, don't fill anything out on the cards. The new process prints everything on the card, the LEO types your info into the computer/print machine. Ask me how I know...... luckily I ordered and had extra's with me. Although since the PSP Fingerprint cards were identical, other than the above mentioned imprint they were the same.

Thanks. That is what I was looking for.

Bring the ATF-supplied cards with you.  They can drop them into the printer and print on them just as easily as they can drop any other cards into it.  As noted, some of the information on the top of the card may get filled in during the process, so don't fill in the little boxes until after the prints are done, then check to be sure everything is filled in correctly.
