I have owned my gsg for about 4 or 5 months, and I bet I havent put 600 rounds through her. well yesterday I took her to the range and it had about 3-4 fail to fire's in each mag. I looked at ammo, and it seemed like the striker was hitting the rims hard enough, but I have been known to be wrong. I am shooting new stock wally world Federal, and it shot wonderfully in all my other 22's I took yesterday. I stripped her down and cleaned her all up and oiled her down real well today, and I havent tried her since I oiled and cleaned. but have any else seen this problem? is it from not being cleaned enough? is it a light primer strike? I'm not really pissed about the problem, just looking for answers. thanks guys! Gee eta- the other 22's I took were a ruger 77/22, henry lever action, ruger mark 2 pistol, and a 10/22. they all worked 100% out of the same box of ammo so I'm guessing its not the ammo |

Sometimes there can be buildup on the surface where the firing pin comes out which causes the round not to sit back as far as it can. After cleaning that, I've noticed a decrease in my FTFs; however it comes back. I eventually slightly modified the firing pin, not as much as the FAQ suggests, but enough to decrease my FTFs to maybe 1 in 150 rounds. |
I'll have to give it a whirl. thanks for the advice. |
