Hello all,

I recently bought a Springfield M1A and love it. I was wondering what the rifle is zeroed at from the factory.

I do not know if this has been posted before, but can some one point me at the right information?

Springfield does not test fire the M1A, so it's your job to zero it.

Set the windage to Mechanical zero. Bottom out the elevation then come up 8-10 clicks. Set your target at 25 yards, and zero about 1.5 inches above point of aim. That should give a close to 200 yard combat zero for the M14. Well, that's the old school method. I don't know what they are doing these days. If you have a 200 yard range, you can do a 200 yard target zero, set your windage knob at 200 yards, then adjust your come ups as your range increases.

If I want a 100 yd zero, where should my point of impact be in reference to point of aim?
