I understand that you are prohibited from acquiring an ffl to enhance your personal collection.  There are no restrictions that you have to meet certain profit margins for you gun shop or mark guns up X%.  Theoretically, could you obtain an ffl, stock only guns that you wished  to have in your personal collection, sell them for 100 times their MSRP, and when they never sold, close your shop because you couldn't make a profit?  Could you then keep all the guns you had in stock or would you be required to send them back to the distributor?  It seems like if there are no laws concerning what an ffl dealer must sell a gun for, that this would not be in violation of the law.

Well that's a wonderful idea, I bet the ATF's never ran into that loop hole before, it would probably stump the federal tax evasion lawyers.

Could you get your FFL, and only sell the firearms to your friends or family, and buy it back from them at the same price.  That way on the books you didn't buy it from yourself?

You could also grow weed in your basement, or cook up some meth in a trailer in the woods.

Stupid! You have no idea about the profit margin on new guns. Most of the time it is 10-15%, not worht the hassle, if you looking to save money, buy used.

You really don't save that much money getting a FFL just to enhance your collection.

and there's more to it than just making a profit.
