I have searched through all of the threads and I cannot find a definitive answer and this gets asked so much, you would think there would be a sticky... At the top of your trust it says "XXXX XXX Revocable Trust Agreement". I would like to only engrave "XXXX XXX Trust" If revocable and agreement is in the title of your trust, is it required to be engraved on the receiver? I have heard it being done both ways, but I cannot find a definitive answer. Also, what is the general consensus for adding "SBR" above your trust name? Worth doing? Or waste of time/space. Thanks! |
| you can call BATFE and ask them 304-616-4500, but why didn't you just name the trust, "xxx xxx trust"? Is it too late to change the trust name? I believe you can use accepted abbreviation for states etc., but something like RLT for revokable living trust is not accepted. |

I just had two sbr's re engraved today because I abbreviated the name of the trust the first time they were engraved.....you must have the full and complete name of the trust......you can abbreviate the city and state
I don't care because they will never be sold so no one will bitch about extra engraving on the receivers |

You must engrave the full name of the trust, as it appears in the trust documentation. http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/trustengravingnotice.jpg This |

Wait What? I have XXX Revocable Living Trust and my attorney told me all I had to engrave was XXX Trust, City, State. He's got plenty of NFA toys too. That used to be allowed. But now ATF is enforcing it strictly –– you must engrave it exactly as it appears in the trust documentation. |

How in the hell am I going to fit XXX Revocable Living Trust - City, State ETA: How can you have a Revocable Living Trust but it's not called such? |

I was in the same boat, but I did not get mine notarized yet or submit anything yet. I talked with my attorney and he just added language to the body of the trust to explain that it is a revocable living trust. This way, I could have a short name on the trust and it still be legal as a "revocable trust". |

I basically edited mine to read something like: Declaration of Trust Part 1. Trust Name This revocable living trust shall be known as the DCS Trust. Nothing too complicated |
