| Thank you sir. They are 1/2 x 28 and I am using the 9mm ti-rant on it right now. I have 8 of these pistols and the barrels have all dropped in so far but I can imagine if someone has a VGC one that was shot very little there could be the possibility of very light fitting required. I do not want to go to far towards minimal tolerances as a lot of these guns have been fired a lot and I would like to avoid sloppy fitment in those pistols |

I'm going to make a limited number of them and put them on my website if there appears to be demand for them. I was initially thinking of doing 25 non threaded and 10 threaded and seeing how it went. Don't post your website here unless you plan on getting a dealer account. You could get locked. |

I will not and did not have any intention of doing so. I just posted them here to see how much interest they may bring to see if my quantities were way off high/low. I do appreciate the advice though and will not break forum rules IM box full. I just didn't want to see a good thing get locked |

I didn't understand them being set aside, one of the reasons I went forward with this. I cannot think of a nicer pistol from the era

As an owner of a 1919 mfd. 1903, those are fantastic.
Glad to see these great little guns getting some love. Evil Roy yours is on its way from the other site, cannot wait to hear from you when you get it :) |

The thread shoulder on the barrel should probably be moved slightly forward (.05")as a step that is fully round in front of the forward slide interfacing lug on the bottom of the barrel. Not all cans interface the muzzle face. Some need to contact the thread shoulder. .438" thread length and a thread shoulder behind it that stays in front of the slide during the slide cycle is important to functioning with most 9mm silencers. To see the machined barrel is pretty cool. It's a neat project. |
After fiddling with it for a bit - if anyone's on the fence about one of these...in my opinion - go for it (and I did). Mainly for two reasons - where else are you going to find one for .32 or .380? And...the customer service of the company that sells these (if you google for the barrel, you'll find them) is fantastic. I'm not sure they made any money on me, let's put it that way If a mod thinks I'm shilling or anything I'll gladly take it offline and/or explain my case. This isn't exactly a high-volume seller (how many people are really going to put a can on a 110-year old Colt? Really?) so I think it's safe, but who can tell these days
Just be aware it might require a little bit of fitting...remember these things are upwards of 100+ years old now depending on when yours was made, and it was largely hand-fitted at creation. The makers of the barrel will help walk you through if you think you need to make some fitting adjustments though. Since it's a fixed barrel in the frame (no need to worry about lockup or timing or anything)...once it's in, it's in, so there's a lot less to worry about when fitting it, and that's if you even need to...I have a habit of picking out the one-off weirdly fit guns from the lineup, so it's entirely possible mine was a one-off
I'd take a photo of mine but I don't have a clean place to photograph and the light is shit today

Thank you very much Zephyr, it was a fun project with surprising results. I would have never expected it to make as good of a host as it did but this pistol has certainly stood the test of time. JMB was certainly a genius

Well that is just cool as hell. I don't have a 1908 but always wanted to try one. Nice work dude. |
