I live in Florida and my question is if its really difficult to obtain the Chief of Police's coveted signature and is it easier depending on which county you live in eg:Dade,Broward or Monroe and Lee.Question two is are you really giving up your rights in order to obtain this permit,I've heard the police can now search your house on a whim or impulse without a warrant. Also I'm pretty sure if your in Law Enforcement and know the chief then he'll probably just sign off without a hitch.

If he won't sign, just thumb your nose and use a revocable trust.

You DO NOT forfeit your 4th amendment rights and, if the alphabet guys want in, tell them to contact your attorney.

It is easier to get a signature from some CLEO's than others.

This is why I didn't even bother to try. I used a revocable living trust for all my NFA weapons. No CLEO signature, fingerprints, or photographs required.

As to that last thing you "heard" about, you don't give up any rights. Any law enforcement that needs to search your house has to get a warrant. Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

BTW, it's a class 3 license to deal in NFA firearms, but if you refer to them, it's title II weapons, or NFA weapons.

Dade is impossible (I know a prosecutor there who couldn't get a signoff). Broward is easy. Don't know about Monroe or Lee.
