| The BATF cashed my check. Does that mean I have a tax stamp enroute? |

NO.....You get in line with the rest of us and wait.......... furn1408 Yes, I realize that, but is it "enroute," however long it takes? The check is deposited by minimum-wage drones weeks, perhaps months, before your application even touches an examiner's desk. They would cash a check on a Form 1/4 submitted by Charles Manson, Lee Harvey Oswald or Osama bin Laden. The act of cashing it means nothing; if/when they reject a Form 1/4, they refund your $$$, six months to a year later ... and in the meantime, they have the use of your $$$. So all it means is that you know it didn't get lost in the mail on the way to ATF. Sorry to be so blunt.

In about 4-6 weeks (generally) after your check is cashed, your application will go to "pending" status and get assigned to an examiner. The wait from pending to approval can be anywhere from 4-24 weeks (depending on the examiner it's assigned to).
Wait a month and you can call to see if it went pending yet, and who your examiner is. The phone # is: 304-616-4500 |

No need to apologize. I appreciate the straight forward answers...not to mention the commentary |
