| Roughly how much would it cost to build a pretty bare bones AR? Bare in terms of accessories and such, I would still want good quality parts. |

Waiting is part of the equation but a mid range lower is still $140-$150. LPK is less than $60 bucks at AIM. Pick out your upper and order now - that will take a couple of months. I am picking up another lower today - DPMS @ $140 What's an LPK? Lower parts kit. You need to buy a stripped lower (AIM $80) + LPK $50-60 + butstock and assemble it yourself (pretty easy), or buy the whole complete lower for around $250 Then you buy an upper from Model 1 Sales for $550-600. |

Ah ok, thanks. I shouldn't have much trouble putting it together, I got plenty of practice doing that in the AF. |

Call Del Ton. Ask if they're having their "Black Friday" sale this year. The Black Friday sale was 10% off anything they sell on the Friday after Thanksgiving only. Couple that with the ARFCOM discount and that's a killer deal.
Last year I picked up a complete 16" carbine upper w/chrome barrel and chamber for $385 + shipping. |
