Im currently running a 10.5 barrel with a micro moa govnah gas block and a standard buffer. I submitted my form 4 for a silencerco saker 762. My question is will the standard buffer be ok or should i go with an H buffer to help with over gassing. Ill also be using the same lower for now and swapping out my BCM MK 12 upper.
Thanks |

Thanks We recommend that if you are controlling the gas to just use a standard power spring and H buffer for 'tactical' applications where you may run the gun so much that you may need the extra mass from the H buffer to help get the BCG into battery. For competition/gamer guys where the gun won't get that fouled, many go with the JP SCS which is expensive and uses the least amount of gas. For those not wanting to drop the coin on the JP SCS, a standard power spring and standard buffer is a decent alternative. Don't know which Govnah you ordered but you could go from total shut off to just enough to cycle so the Govnah can totally stop overgassing if you really want to be anal about tuning. I wouldn't overthink it. Just wait till you get a chance to try the Saker 762 with your 10.5 and Govnah and it will work if you bought a Govnah with a 10.3-12.5 carbine gas specific regulator plate. If you find that you think you are getting more gas then at that time think about an H buffer or going even smaller on the regulator plate....but I wouldn't go heavier than an H buffer if not going full auto as it more reciprocating mass. |
