A friend of a friend wants me to load up a couple hundred rounds of match ammo for him to use in a long range shooting clinic in a couple months. I don't have enough spent brass that I'm comfortable giving up that much right now out of my own stash for him. What's a good source for reasonably priced new/spent brass?
So far Graf's is cheapest I've found at about $.70 each shipped but its once fired, probably from an M2. Being that this is supposedly a very high end 50 I'm looking for some quality stuff that once he gets his own reloading setup, he should have some good brass to work with. |

Finding good brass is going to cost him, Barrett sells their test brass for $1 each so that will set him back $200 for just the brass. If you look around on the net you can find brass for .50 cents each but more then likely it will be once fired out of an M2. You can also buy new CBC or WCC brass, WCC will cost about $1.75 each and if you want a lead on CBC let me know as I know where to get it for $1 each new.
Other then that, if you can find someone with a stash of new IMI or TZZ brass that's willing to let it go you can expect to pay about $2 each if they're in a good mood. |

Holy toledo!!!! $3.30 a piece for this brass. And it is not primed.. That's the f-'ed up dollar / euro exchange rate doing its magic... |

No affiliation with this member "BarGunner" but I bought 196 pieces of this brass from him about a month ago and while they show the ejector marks typical of Barrett brass, they are once fired through something with a pretty tight chamber (very easy to resize) I did lose 5 or 6 pieces due to cracks from the factory neck crimp, but thats WAY better than any once fired M2 brass I have ever done. He also shipped crazy quick too. (not sure how it made it from wherever he is, Oregon I think?, to Indiana in a day but it did) |

I know some folks don't like CBC brass but it works great for me as well as Winchester WCC brass. I've always seemed to have trouble with Lake City brass sticking as well as coming from GI ranges from M2 machine guns and the base is often screwed up so bad I can't get it into the shell holder. The Lake City brass also tends to stick in a bolt action 50 BMG but I don't have any problems with CBC and WCC brass. Good luck.
