| I'm wearing a pair of OTB Bootistans. They rock. Mostly. One of the most comfortable pairs of boots I've ever worn, except for one thing: the lower eyelet on the instep side on both left and right boots is right above the first joint on my big toe. The rivet rides on top of the bone, and it gets painful quick. Thin socks, really thick socks; doesn't matter. I've re-laced the boots skipping the bottom eyelets altogether, and the toe box stays tight enough, so I can get away without having those two bottom eyelets. My question is this: Since it has a waterproof liner, can the eyelets and rivets be removed altogether by a cobbler? I have one local to me that's done good work in the past. I just want to know if it's feasible at all. |
