All your electronic shit in your house. I'll wait. Yeah guess not. That ship sailed a looooooooooong time ago. OP you do you. Glad your happy. I wish I could find a 125 dollar 870. |
| Full review to follow, but my recommendation is to buy them if you don’t mind a Norinco made shotgun. Excellent 870 clones for the price (currently $116). Give them away as stocking stuffers and birthday gifts at that price. Far better made than any other cheap pump. |

Quoted: Does anyone make a 590 copy? Not Really in looks and dimensions- The cheap Turk guns are like a hybrid between Mossberg and 870. Mossberg was ahead of the curve to make its Budget Maverick version and less direct competition - Palmetto State Armory is coming out with a modular version where you can accessorize the gun how you want. |

I'm usually a "buy a Maverick 88" sort of guy and have avoided the Chinese 870 clones, mostly because I had better American shotguns when these first appeared and really didn't have use for one. (ironically I DO NOT own a Maverick...) But at < $130 for one? Yeah, that's sinking into my "why the hell not?" "screw around" category. At that price, I may get one just to beat the living shit out of, to see how much punishment it will tolerate. |

I know for a fact they were far better of a purchase than the Remington Express that Freedom Group was putting out. So much that they actually purchased HR that was selling the Pardner Pump (Also a Norinco 982 with a different receiver shape) They feel a bit heavier for some reason, but this helps soak up recoil. You will probably like it. Way better built than the Turkish pumps in the same price range. If anything they feel over built.\ Honestly I have no knowledge of how the new Remington's builds are. |

The Hawks are heavier than an 870 b/c the stock is solid plastic - not hollow. Put a Remington wood stock on it, it'll be lighter probably by at least half a pound. Rem Arms quality seems decent, but they're not producing shotguns at the moment. At all. They're building a new factory in Georgia, have already shut down production in New York, and utterly missed making new shotguns for the 2025 waterfowl season.

Old Review:![]() IAC Hawk 982 Shotgun: 12ga Remington 870 Clone Review (HD) I wish they would bring back the Ghost Ring Model. Old Pics comparing Hawk vs Pardner: Attached File The only issue is that the forend tube was extremely tight with a magpul forend. I had to use heat on the forend and slide it on with some oil. I picked up a spare off ebay for about $25 in case I want to swap to something else. All of the Pardner Pump parts are exactly the same/compatible. Remington stuff fits too. |
Heres another anecdote on the toughness of these. When I first got it I was lazy and didnt feel like figuring out how to disassemble the thing, so I just started hammering the magul handguard on with the pump arm still attached to the receiver ![]() It eventually got jammed in one direction so I went the other way and it got jammed into the disassembly-spring-arm-thingies you have to depress to remove it. So I hammered it some more and it came apart and eventually back together without issue. 20 rounds of buckshot and slugs at the range afterwards with 100% function checking and it's working great. These things are absolute tanks. |

Quoted: Being a shotgunner all my life, I’d buy a used 870. I shoot 100’s of rounds each year. There’s a buy once rule cry once that applies to shotguns more than anything I can think of. I shoot them more than that. Carried an 870 damn near every day in some role at work for 25 years, used them for patrol, less lethal, and breaching roles. Taught shotgun classes. Remington 870 Armorer. And I am unable to resist buying a used 870 Police riot gun if the price is right (so weak!) I would say there can be more problems with a used 870 than most people even know what to look for. Hell my 2nd agency issued me an 870 that failed my very first function check, I ripped it all apart and found the forend nut was loose, so loose that the gun was not headspacing correctly enough to fire. God knows what would have happened if someone tried to use it. One of my first tasks was going thru all the patrol shotguns to make sure they were all good. (Everyone should check their 870 forend nuts- blue loctite is your friend). These Blue Line Solutions (Hawk/Norinco 870 clones) are better than the Express models. Might even be arguably better than the 870 Police version that came out under the Freedom Group ownership. Better than an old worn out Wingmaster riot gun from the 60’s-80’s. I have worked on all of those guns at some point. The only issues are that they might need a little more wear in or smoothing before they get that well used 870 feel. The forend should be chopped down to LE length, or replaced with an LE style one. The barrels are not directly interchangeable with OEM due to the longer mag tube. None of that is a big deal. I wish they used the 870 POLICE/Wingmaster barrel locking design vs the Express style, but both types work fine. The mag tube holding one more round to begin with is a huge improvement, as a regular 870 Police extension is a source of a lot of potential malfunctions if not installed correctly and tested well. For the price, you can’t beat them. People thought Norinco MAK-90’s were junk as well when they were $179-239 or so… what do people think today? (Should have bought a dozen!) For pump action shotguns, these are the buy it now import of 2025 in my opinion. Cheap enough to hand them out or leave one in every corner or every vehicle. Can’t complain about anything except the people who built them (china sucks), but that aside, just looking at the firearm and how it is built, hard to go wrong with them. |

Then the Japanese came along and figured out how to make a better product for less money. That's fine because that's what a free market is supposed to do (drive competition and innovation) but unlike Chinese, the Japanese didn't do it by stealing IP or using slave labor and their goal wasn't to destroy the US economy in order to become biggest bitch on the block. Quoted: I guess there a shit load of other people who feel the same as me. You could try to argue that this is really a chicken or the egg question? Do some people not care because the market is flooded with this crap OR... Is the market flooded with this crap because too many people don't seem to care and buy whatever is cheapest? Its mostly the latter because at the end of the day, consumers drive the market. People who choose to buy inferior products (whether knowingly or out of ignorance) simply because it costs less is the main reason why the market is flooded with low quality crap. Quoted: You do you. Quoted: Just one dumb response after another with you... Chinese shit is everything? WTF are you talking about? Did you mean "everywhere"? If so then... so what? How does that justify buying crap products from communist shitholes that hates us? Phones and TVs are one thing because for the most part, we don't have a choice there but in a lot of other cases (like this one) there are plenty of other/better options. Arguing that there is nothing wrong with buying cheap Chinese or Turkish clone crap because all cell phones come from China is just a stupid argument. Its mostly the latter because at the end of the day, consumers drive the market. People who choose to buy inferior products (whether knowingly or out of ignorance) simply because it costs less is the main reason why the market is flooded with low quality crap. Ordinarily I'd say fair enough but here's the thing. Your poor choices do actually effect me. The more people who buy this crap, the harder it is for other companies/countries making higher quality alternatives to stay in business. Eventually, they have to move the production to China or go out of business and then the rest of us no longer have a choice. Just like with cell phone and TVs. And I love the cowards who can't make a logical argument so they try misdirect the conversion into something else. What's this "tough guy" BS? Did I threaten to kick your ass or invade your safe space? Did I hurt your vagina by saying mean things? It's ok man. Not everyone can read. There is your problem it's not crap anymore. Its done cheaper and better then we can. The shotgun in question is a perfect example. There is not a single MIM part in the gun. Everything is forged. The trigger guard is even steel not plastic like the Remington's. Remington on the other hand makes shit MIM and garbage parts and sells the gun for 600.00. Why would anyone want to buy a Remington when its cheaply made and costs 5x. We all dug this hole we are in. We are now fighting each other on Chinese computers. You can embrace the suck, or whine about it. As to the tough guy crap. Children switch to name calling when they don't get their way. As I said you do you and I'll do me. |
