Is there any magic to having a barrel cut to a "standard" length (i.e. 10.5, 11.5, 12.5, etc)?

I'm going back and forth between 11.5 and 12.5 and was thinking about splitting the difference and going 12".  Would that be a problem?

Thanks

Just gotta make sure your gas port is the right diameter (not that there should be much difference between an 11.5" and 12.5" gas port).

I bought a 12" 5.56 upper from PSA...and also just had a 16" 6.8 barrel cut down to 12". Nothing wrong with them at all as long as gas system is correct.

Or go a little big and fine tune it with an adjustable block.

I had Adco cut my 11.5" BCM barrel down to about 10.9" to get it to the length I wanted it with my hand guard.

mine is a 10.5 factory psa barrel cycles fine with and without silencer. port size, buffer and ammo is key.
