I asked the same damn question a few years ago and now I am back. Someone sent me a video of how to do back then it but it is now gone, I cant find it on YouTube. There IS some damn trick to it but I cant figure it out. Does anyone know the trick to re-attaching the spring to the bolt sleeve? Attached File |

The "Germans" love this stupid shit. My BMW is full of weird shit like this and if you dont know the TRICK you aint fucking getting it apart or back together. For the record, I did not purposely separate the spring from the sleeve. When Im cleaning it, I just wipe it down and spray Gun Scrubber on it. |

Without knowing the proper Steyr technique (schitze) it can take me a F@&%ing hour to get the spring properly attached to the bolt sleeve. It's a stupid design. Here is a properly attached spring. Attached File It is important to note that the spring lines up perfectly with the sleeve AND has the little spring end going through the hole in the sleeve. Attached File What typically happens with me (not German) is I get the spring-end tab in the hole but the spring is all crooked and at an angle to the sleeve. DO NOT INSTALL IT LIKE THIS!
