Which one should I get? The Government or Commander kit? Advantages/Disadvantages to either?

I have a Thompson Auto Ordinance model. I really want a super reliable gun (ie- feed, bang, eject 100% of the time), I am not concerned with a super trick match trigger or anything of that sort.

Well you need to know what exact pistol you have. Spring packs will be either for a standard(5"), commander(4.25") or officers(3.5") model. Spring length is dependant on which size pistol you have.
Pretty hard to bet a plain old Wolff spring kit. You just need to tune the sear spring a touch.

You want the Government model for an AO with a 5 inch barrel.

The springs in a 1911 are:
mainspring
sear spring
firing pin spring
recoil spring

Replacing the above has no appreciable effect or improvement on 1911 triggers.

Charles.

There is also the mag release spring, and 80 series pistols have a firing pin safety plunger spring.
