| I have a chance to buy a Thompson custom 1911. It has custom grips, trigger, saftey, i think that's all. I haven't looked at it yet, but the guy says he hasn't used it much. He want's to sell it beacuse it's "Too much gun". He wants $350. Anyone know if this is a good price? Thanks. |

If gun passes standard safety/function check $350 is good a deal for essentially gov model 45acp. Mike PS - if you don't know how to do a s/f check talk w/ your local gun dealer, trick is to make sure trigger job was done properly and that grip safety is still active. |

It appears that Kahr is now the owner of the trademark "Auto-Ordnance" and/or "Tommy Gun". (News to me!) The URL below is a link directly from http://www.Auto-ordnance.com: www.kahr.com/catalogrequest.html hope it helps...squib |
| If I remember correctly, Auto-Ordnance 1911s were marketed as value pistol. This meaning lower cost. It never really achived acceptance by the buying community and was considered cheap. I had looked at and asked my FFL back then to get a price which I think was near $350 new. I bought a Browning Hi-Power for this price instead. Glad I did. |
