I need to replace the front sight on my 1903 Springfield rifle. Does anyone know if the dovetail comes out from left to right or the other way around. I am the kind of guy who always does things wrong the first time and would hate to mess this up.

IIRC, it can be removed either way. Are you replacing the whole thing, or just the sight blade? I popped the pin out and replaced the sight blade of one of my 03's with the base still attached to the rifle. Matt This is the best way. The screw get's buggered way too easily. |
