Hello all, I have been a fan of the AUG type bullpup rifles for a while, but have held off buying one, because I cannot settle on which one. Can people who actually own and shoot these give me some feedback. I am torn between the New AUG A3 and the AXR, though have not discounted the MSAR either. Is the gun these guys had the problems with a fluke ? Does the AXR accept all AUG components such as a trigger tamer pack ? MSAR - good - cost, reliability, last round hold open bad -does not use AR mags nor is there a stock conversion for it that I could find, AR style forward assist (not a fan) OK.. So any thoughts ? Would really appreciate any input and if anyone in the DFW area has one of these and would not mind me trying it out, that would be great ! Thanks in advance AXR has a bolt hold open, they also offer 3 rail lengths one of which is as long or longer than the Sabre Defense A3. Yes the AXR takes all AUG parts and is a true AUG copy. You can use the trigger tamer on it. MSAR says steel cased ammo voids the warranty also. What is Sabre's warranty stance on steel case ammo? My AXR has still been 100%, no issues at all. I can't say the same about any other firearm I own except my CZ75. Even my Glocks and ARs have had problems at some point. Isn't this the one that when Kent got it back he was baffled as to what the deal was? He could not get it to FTE no matter what. |

I just spoke to Jack at Steyr USA and he told me that as long as the ammo is SAAMI spec factory ammo then there is no problems with the warranty. if you are only supposed to shoot saami spec (223 remington) then i guess i need to get my chamber reamed when i get mine.. fuck 223, i have 7k rounds of 5.56 
eta: i just emailed jack at steyrarms and he said it is ok to shoot factory 5.56 through the a3 no worries now |
