Seems like the standard 75 gr. will fit mag length but the AMAX will not. Someone will be along shortly to correct me. Regarding the 77 gr Sierra and Nosler match bullets - they will definitely fit mag length and that is what they were designed for. |

I am using Varget. 24.0 gr of Varget under a 75 gr HPBT-M bullet seated to ~2.245" OAL will be just fine. You will notice a tiny amount of powder compression but not enough to worry about. Go for it! |
| The hollowpoint tips vary so I would make sure the longest of your loaded 77 bthp's is 2.260" or less. I had problems with one rifle when the oal exceeded 2.260". I seat them to a maximum oal of 1.255" and they feed and function fine in all magazines and in different AR's. Your results may vary. The irregular tip shapes can give you as much as 15 thousandths difference in seated overall length. Seat them all the same and don't worry about the different overall lengths. Like mentioned, the Hornady 75 bthp can be seated to mag length while the 75 A-Max can't. |
