I have a Class 07 FFL and I need instructions on "How to install a 3 Round Burst trigger" in a M16 lower that is fully legal and a Form 2 has been approved for the weapon.
I've played with a lot of triggers and I am not going to try to "Wing it" when I know someone out there has some written instructions on how to do this step by step. Thanks, glwbear |

Thanks, glwbear There's no Class 7 FFL - are you trying to say you're a Type 07 (manufacturer), with Class 2 SOT? If you've "submitted" and "gotten back approved" a Form 2, you're already having problems, since a Form 2 is not to be submitted until the firearm in question has ALREADY been manufactured... A 3rb trigger group installs in an M16 receiver exactly like the full auto group - just happens to have two disconnectors instead of only one. Here's your step-by-step instructions for installing the 3rb group in an M16 receiver. 1) install the selector by loosening the pistol grip screw to relieve tension on the selector detent, removing any existing selector, and inserting the m16 selector. Tighten the pistol grip screw back down, and place the selector in SEMI. 2) install the trigger spring to the trigger 3) install the two disconnector springs to the trigger - wide sides DOWN. press them firmly into place so they lock into the recesses in the bottom of the trigger 4) insert the trigger into the fire control well, sliding the back of the trigger body underneath the selector. 5) position both disconnectors in the channel of the trigger, "tailed" semi disconnector to the left side, burst disconnector to the right side, so their notches rest on their respective disconnector springs. 6) gently depress the two disconnectors into the trigger with a finger of one hand, line up the trigger and disconnector holes with the trigger pin holes in the receiver - press the trigger pin into place 7) assemble and install the burst cam and burst cam spring to the right side of the trigger. The burst cam should rotate counterclockwise, when viewed from above, and resist clockwise rotation when the burst cam and burst cam spring are installed correctly. install the hammer spring to the hammer 8) lay both hammer spring legs carefully on TOP of the trigger pin, depress and rotate the hammer into the fire control well so that the burst cam slips under the burst disconnector - line up the hammer holes with the hammer pin holes in the reciever, and press the hammer pin into place. When correctly installed, the j-spring inside the hammer prevents the hammer pin from backing out, and the hammer spring legs prevent the trigger pin from backing out. 9) slip the auto sear spring leg over the groove in the left side of the M16 selector, and align the auto sear holes with the auto sear pin holes in the receiver. press the auto sear pin into place. When correctly installed, a short leg of the auto sear spring on the right side of the assembly will press into a groove on the auto sear pin, and keep it from backing out of the receiver. |
