Hi,

I purchased a CAA Roni, many years ago, when they first came out.  Then the ATF determined that they would fall into the class of a SBR, even though they contained a pistol for firing.  Has this ruling changed?  If you buy a 16" barrel for the Glock, would that qualify for a carbine?

How do I make a CAA Roni, legal in the eyes of the ATF?  Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Form 1 the pistol as a SBR. Other than trying to finda 16" barrel for the pistol (if even available), SBR'ing it would be the easiest and cheapest way to go now theres no nfa tax anymore. Just the cost of the engraving.

Why would I engrave the pistol?  Wouldn't that be altering the serial number?  Also,  then it would be a violation if I took the pistol out of the RO
NI?

IGB is the only company making 16" barrels for the Glock, and they're pricy. The barrels can be bought from several different distributors. Here's one.

You arent altering the serial number. The only thing you are engraving is your name/trust name and city and state you are in on the receiver. And no taking it out of the Roni isnt a violation. Iyt would be no different than putting a 16" upper on a SBR temporaily. All my SBR's still have the original roll marks and required info from the manufacturers (s/n, cal, model, location) on them. Just have to put my info (name/trustname andlocation) on it as the MAKER of the SBR.

Do you put the info on the RONI or the pistol?

Pistol gets registered as sbr
Pistol gets the engraving

You cant register the stock, its just a part used. The frame of the glock is the controlled item.

Hi,

Just an update-I put a 16" barrel on it and use it as a.45 ACP Carbine, using Glock mags
