does the  quality of parts used to build  upper halves vary greatly?? in other words, what  if anything, makes an LMT upper better than a Model 1 sales upper? i dont want to pay alot for an upper, i dont need the best but dont want junk. any suggestions?? (looking for a 14.5" M4 profile)

I would suggest going with Bushmaster.  They are fairly priced and decent quality.
