I got an alexander arms tactical trigger (I'm a 1911 guy and thought it would be a fun addition because of the look).  When I was installing it I started playing with the trigger pull and noticed something I didn't know was possible.  It seems like if you press and hold the trigger until the gun cycles, releasing the trigger will then send the next round down range.  So, I tried the by manually manipulating the bolt with the charging handle and it definately drops the hammer a second time.  This could be a pretty solid feature if you got the timing down right, but I can't figure out if it would work with live rounds or even if it is supposed to.  Does anyone know if this is the case or if I have done something wrong

Sounds like a Diconnector spring installed upside down. "big" part goes down. If you put it up, then it "sticks" when disco is driven back.

Definitely something wrong, disconnector's not engaging properly or the hammer/sear interface is wrong and it's missing when it should reset
